Porcelain Crowns Can Make for a More Beautiful Smile

Has a deep cavity wreaked havoc on your smile? Is an unsightly chip in your tooth causing you to be self-conscious? Are permanent stains keeping you tight lipped? For many patients, dental crowns are a great way to address cosmetic concerns, and in some cases, they can even improve overall oral health. Using natural-looking porcelain, metal for added stability, or a combination of the two, we can provide you with a dental crown that will have you smiling proudly again.

What Issues Can Crowns Cover?

Crowns can be used to resolve a number of issues, such as:

  • Strengthening a weakened tooth, or restoring one after root canal treatment
  • Improving the appearance of chipped, overly worn or irregularly-shaped teeth
  • Covering permanent stains
  • Protecting a tooth with a cavity too large to fix with a filling

Crowns Are Often Ideal for Cosmetic Work

Porcelain crowns are both durable and beautiful. They can help to create a natural-looking smile, because they are crafted for each patient based on the exact shape and shade of his or her teeth. They can even be designed to closely match your teeth’s natural translucence, to ensure your smile is not only gorgeous, but more importantly, it’s natural-looking.

How We Can Help Improve Your Smile

  1. First we will use digital X-rays and/or an intraoral camera to determine the best restorative treatment for you.
  2. If a crown is the best option, we will have a lab technician create a natural-looking tooth based on your specific requirements.
  3. While this permanent crown is being crafted, we will usually fit you with a temporary crown to protect your teeth.
  4. Finally we will place your permanent crown, and ensure it’s a great fit.
