There are four main types of dentures:
Complete dentures are full replacements for all of your upper or lower teeth. These dentures can be made and placed within six months after tooth extraction.
Immediate dentures are placed into the mouth immediately after tooth extraction, and used as a temporary set to stabilize the bone and tissue.
Overdentures are similar to complete dentures, but not all the teeth are extracted. The difference is one or more natural teeth are used for support to provide more stabilization during chewing.
Partial dentures correct gaps in your smile when only some of your teeth are missing. These dentures prevent your remaining teeth from shifting, and can help prevent further tooth loss.
