Whatever you’re wondering about when it comes to your teeth and gums, we have answers. Your dental checkup provides you with an opportunity to feel comfortable speaking up – make sure you ask your questions. Even if something simply feels slightly different than normal, please let us know.
We will take a look at your oral cavity to look for signs of change. If we notice irritation or abnormalities, we will investigate the concern. During your exam, we may use an intraoral camera, which takes a snapshot of your mouth’s tissues. This gives us a chance to zoom-in, magnifying areas we cannot see with our eyes alone. We will also be able to show you what’s happening within your mouth, so you feel informed and educated about your smile without having to make assumptions about what we describe.
Your dental checkup may also include the use of advanced imaging technology with the use of digital X-rays. Unlike conventional X-rays, these will upload almost instantly into our computer system for near-immediate viewing. We will have a clearer understanding of what is happening beneath the surface of your teeth and gums, so we can offer treatment for changes if necessary. Early detection of concerns yields much greater success rates than if we find concerns once they have progressed.
